MY EXPERIENCE GATHERING THE USER NEEDS.
           
            An important conclusion to draw from this process is that the designed system should be easily accessible and not only be             safe but also be seen.

    USER NEEDS.

            -That the design is stable and robust.
            -That is strong, supporting my weight and carrying objects.
            -That allows safely hold me to avoid falls.
            -That allows staying safe with your hands full.
            -To not feel insecure or afraid to climb.
            -Have a firm base; steps that do not undergo deformation and squeak.
            -That is safe, prevent me from falling.
            -That the steps surface is not slippery.

            -It is easy to find or display, easily reachable.
            -You do not have to be searching a stool at the house every time you need to use.
            -You do not need to hide, save.
            -That is as close as possible.

            -That not occupying space.
            -It is easy to store.
            -That is as close as possible but do not bother.

            -That is aesthetically attractive.
            -That does not clash with the decor.
            -Made with noble materials, wood or wood finish.
            -Away from the metal staircase image, avoid creaking metal to climb.
            -Available in a wide range of colors, to match the furniture.

            -Simple to operate, easy to install or open.
            -That is easy and simple to store.
            -It is safe to open or save, to handle.
            -That is easy to handle with your hands full.
            -That is easy to transport from one place to another in the library, or shelves.

            -Avoid the fall of the items placed on the shelf.
            -Do not throw things already placed or organized, collected in the library.
            -It will not prevent the use of the bookcase or cabinet (open doors, drawers, take things off the shelves lower).

            -( ¡ ) To have a system or component that allow depositing the objects you are working and have your hands free.
            -( ¡ ) A area temporarily leave where objects that are putting.

            -Adaptable to all types of shelving.
            -The object have sufficient height for access to all shelves.
            -That allows me to not only access but seeing things that are highest.
            -To use for different people, regardless of their height.

            -That can be placed in the inaccessible areas of the library.
            -Enabling use in difficult areas ( soils different height zones, stairs, etc.).

            -That is comfortable to go up.
            -Steps or base wide enough to keep me on it comfortably.

            -Easy to clean.
            -It is not necessary to remove your shoes when climbing to avoid dirtying.

            -( ¡ ) Do not make much noise, when used at certain times of the night.

            -It does not scratch or hit / spoil the furniture in the room when handling.
            -That protects the floor material (hardwood) of the room where it is used.

            -( ¡ ) Possibility of extra lighting for better manipulate objects in the bookcase.

            -( ¡ ) You may have other ancillary uses, as a provisional stool.
            -( ¡ ) That allowed to sit while working at that point.

            -( ¡ ) For easy assembly and transport from the store.

            -( ¡ ) That is recyclable.

    MY EXPERIENCE GATHERING THE USER NEEDS.

            During the interview process, I was surprised to detect that the majority of respondents prioritized the security, however,                     preferred to use a chair or stool rather than fetching a ladder, because that was what was around.



 
    PROBLEM STATEMENTS
    (from the most general to the most specific)

            In what ways might I...

            -access to the top shelves of a bookstore without having to use a separate staircase.
            -clean and organize all objects stored in the furniture (dressers, bookcases, etc.) quickly and more comfortable.
            - (*) allow use full height of the entire bookcase or furniture in general, more comfortable.
            -To expand the storage space or maximize space than is available in the rooms.
            -To keep rooms organized and collected.
            -to do the large rooms more comfortable and livable for people's daily life.

    THE GAP

            Find a system, simple, aesthetically appealing, not occupying more space and allows easy access to all the storage area of             the furniture, thus allowing to expand the volume and maximize storage space than is available.
