assignment 5.1 Concept testing - one concept

    1.  MODULE SHELVES-LADDER

                Find a system, simple, aesthetically appealing, not occupying more space and allows easy access to all the storage area                 of the furniture, thus allowing to expand the volume and maximize storage space than is available.

          PRIMARY USER NEEDS.

                - Design is stable, robust and sure.
                - It is easy to find, locatable, always available, always on hand.
                - Not occupying space.
                - Simple to operate, easy to install or open.
                - ( ¡ ) A area temporarily leave where objects that are putting.
                - That is comfortable to go up.
                - ( ¡ ) You may have other ancillary uses, as a provisional stool.

    2.    DESCRIPTION OF THE PROCESS I USED TO TEST THE CONCEPT

                Opt for a test of concept, which shows the three concepts previously selected users to choose the preferred alternative for                 them.

                Respondents used as the same group of users (or portion thereof) that were met during the development process of                         users needs. Prepare a short presentation to the three concepts selected by simple explanations, illustrations and                             photographs. And they are presented with a few simple questions:

                - Of these three options, ladder rack module, which you think is best for your needs?
                - Can you explain your choice?
                - In your chosen concept, detect any improvement or defect?

            SUMMARY OF RESPONSE / SURVEY

                User 1: He selects as its alternative concept I; consider it very safe and a very original idea. He criticizes some complexity                  in its opening, but believes that the drawers-steps is the best design of the three concepts for use as storage. In the other                 two options, questions accessibility for storage piece ladder. Whereas, in the case of option B, the piece of ladder as
                totally lost space for storage.

                User 2: Match the option I. He also emphasizes its storage capacity and simplicity. Although the concept deemed most
                solid B. He propose a new system for opening the drawers-steps more comfortable, I consider something interesting to                     add.

                User 3: He also selected as preferred the concept I. Consider this concept as the most comfortable, attractive and more                     profitable to use as storage. Criticizes the concept F as the most uncomfortable, having to climb on a slant to handle the                     different shelves. Think that I can improve the concept, with an opening of the riser of drawers instead of the footprint.
                Something that makes it more solid and secure.

                User 4: In this case bet for option B. Consider this concept easier to use and convenient to open. Not so much the loss of                 storage capacity. In the case of the concept F, is concerned about the length of the steps due to the depth of the shelf.                         Secondly I would choose the concept for its practical aspect.

                User 5: He chooses the concept I. Highlights its storage capacity. And simplicity. In the other two concepts, he question the                 utility to store ladder area. To improve the concept I proposed that the drawers are completely removable-steps.

            CONCLUSIONS

                - The preferred concept is the concept I, in which most users flatter its storage capacity.
                - Many propose an improved opening system for drawers-steps. In search of a more secure and easy access to store                            things, it does not interfere with its use as steps.
                   Folding down the riser instead of the footprint of the steps. Something really interesting I incorporate my concept to be
                   developed.
                - All agree in rejecting the concept F, which while attractive, do not consider it practical.
                - After solved the use as a ladder, all users place much emphasis on the storage capacity of the concepts

           

    3.     SELECTED CONCEPT MODIFIED       INCORPORATING IDEAS FROM TESTING
